10 July 2012: ACME Conference 2012 Show your working: ensuring mathematics education policy is well informed
at the Royal Society, London.
The ACME Annual conference will bring together teachers, policy makers, researchers and other stakeholders in mathematics education, to discuss a variety of issues such as the implementation of the new National Curriculum and ACME’s project on Post-16 mathematics.
28th June 2012: BioMaths Challenges. HEA STEM Biosciences Workshop.
9:30 to 16:00 at the Nuffield Foundation, 28 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3JS.
There will be sessions on:
- recent work on the maths content of science A levels as well as possible alternative maths school qualifications and look at how this might affect university admissions.
- how to make the most of innovation in teaching styles and technologies to address factors such increasing range of student backgrounds and class sizes,
- use of diagnostic testing, software tools and e-learning and consideration of issues such as accessibility and building confidence.
